Melting Pottery

Melting pottery is a project about connecting different peopl and cultures -
just as ancient civilizations used to do for their overseas trades -
through the design of ceramic vessels.
The focus of our representation is not only on the precision and technology of 3D printing,
but mostly on the peculiar feature of these vessels:
they are split into two, with the two halves being interchangeable across the whole series.
This leads to a collection of ever-changing artefacts,
reflecting the exchange and contamination of cultures in our society.
This project belongs to VCU Arts Quatar;
it first has been on display in Milan at Rossana Orlandi Gallery
during the Milan Design Week 2022
and is now travelling across worldwide art galleries.
